A one-of-one piece handmade by Groovy Japanese Boutique using an authentic vintage Japanese Kasuri haori, thoughtfully reworked with a detachable fleece lining for warmth and versatility.
This unique piece brings together traditional Japanese textile artistry and contemporary functionality, transforming a beautiful vintage garment into a distinctive, wearable jacket for modern life.
As each piece is individually handmade from a different vintage garment, every one has its own unique fabric, pattern and history. No two are ever exactly alike.
The rich indigo-blue fabric features a captivating traditional Japanese Kasuri pattern, decorated with vibrant floral-inspired motifs in shades of red, orange, golden yellow, green and ivory.
Delicate white geometric markings are scattered across the deep blue background, creating a playful yet beautifully balanced composition. The colourful motifs bring warmth and character to the fabric, while the relaxed silhouette and wide sleeves preserve the elegance of traditional Japanese clothing.
Kasuri is a traditional Japanese textile technique in which yarns are dyed before weaving to create distinctive patterns with softly blurred, feathered edges. Celebrated for its craftsmanship and expressive character, Kasuri reflects the rich heritage of Japanese textile artistry.
A soft fleece lining, easily detachable with hook fastenings, provides extra warmth during colder months and can be removed to wear the original lightweight Kasuri haori during warmer seasons.
