Groovy Japanese Boutique is a small, family-run brand based in beautiful Wales, creating unique, sustainable fashion that blends traditional Japanese textiles with modern style.

Our founder is a Japanese designer who studied fashion in Tokyo, bringing a deep understanding of both contemporary trends and traditional craftsmanship to every piece.

All of our original print organic cotton garments are carefully made in a small factory in India, where a talented team of women brings our designs to life with care and skill.

In our Welsh home studio, we transform vintage kimonos, obi, and leftover fabric pieces into upcycled clothing and accessories. Every piece is crafted with attention to detail, using as much of the fabric as possible to minimise waste.

Our mission is to rescue beautiful Japanese kimonos from being forgotten in wardrobes and give them a new life as contemporary, wearable art. Each item tells a story – from the history of the textile to the hands that created it.

We hope our pieces bring a little joy, colour, and meaning to your wardrobe, while supporting ethical and sustainable practices from start to finish.

Our Jaipur Studio & Delhi Printing

We collaborate with a small family-run studio in Jaipur, led by an inspiring woman who started the business to create a brighter future for her daughter. We first met at Glastonbury Festival, and that encounter led to a wonderful partnership.

The studio is part of her home, where 13 skilled artisans — including 4 talented women — handcraft each item with care. Every stage, from design and cutting to sewing and hand-finishing, is done with precision and pride.

Our original prints are produced in Delhi by specialist printers on high-quality organic fabrics.

Together, this collaboration ensures everything we make is ethical, beautiful, and full of human spirit.
