Refund policy

Thank you for shopping with Groovy Japanese Boutique. We want you to be delighted with your purchase, but we understand that sometimes things don’t work out. Below is our policy for returns and refunds.


1. Eligibility & Timeframe

  • You may request a return within 14 days of receiving your item.

  • Items must be unused, unworn, and in their original condition, including tags and packaging (if applicable).

  • Please include your proof of purchase when requesting a return.


2. Defective, Damaged or Incorrect Items

If your item is defective, damaged, or not what you ordered, please contact us within 7 days of delivery with photos.
We will assess and, if approved, offer one of the following:

  • Replacement (same item, new)

  • Full refund

  • Partial refund (if the defect is minor)

We will cover return shipping costs in these cases.


3. Customer Change of Mind (Non-Defective Returns)

  • You may return items for a change of mind within 14 days (items must remain in new condition).

  • Return shipping costs are your responsibility.

  • Refunds will cover the item cost only (original shipping is not refunded) once the returned item is received and inspected.


4. Returns Process

  1. Contact us at info@groovyjapaneseboutique.co.uk with your order number, item(s), and reason for return.

  2. We will provide instructions and the return address.

  3. Pack the item securely and include your order number and a copy of your invoice.

  4. Use a trackable shipping service if possible and retain your tracking number.

  5. Once we receive and inspect the returned item, we will process your refund.

  6. Refunds are issued to the original payment method (credit card, Google Pay, etc.).


5. When Returns Are Not Accepted

  • Items that have been used or worn

  • Items with missing tags or original packaging

  • Returns requested after 14 days

  • Custom or one-off upcycled items (unless faulty)


6. Timing & Refunds

  • Refunds are processed within 7 business days after we approve the return.

  • Your bank or card issuer may take additional time for the refund to appear in your account.


7. Exchanges

We do not provide direct exchanges. To get a different size or style, please return the original item (if eligible) and place a new order.


8. EU / UK Consumer Rights

If you are an EU/UK consumer, you may have additional statutory rights under UK/EU consumer law, including cooling-off rights for distance sales.
This policy does not affect those rights.


9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The latest version will always be posted here. Continued use of our services after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
