A one-of-one piece handmade by Groovy Japanese Boutique using an authentic vintage Japanese Shibori haori.
For the first time in the GROOVY REWORKED collection, we have brought together traditional Japanese Shibori and bold leopard print, creating an unexpected fusion of Japanese heritage, retro sportswear and contemporary street style.
The beautiful wine-red and ivory fabric features an intricate all-over Kanoko-style Shibori pattern, with countless delicate dots arranged into flowing geometric compositions.
Shibori is a traditional Japanese resist-dyeing technique in which fabric is carefully tied, stitched, folded or bound before dyeing to create intricate patterns and distinctive textures. Practised for centuries, it is celebrated for its exceptional craftsmanship and artistic expression.
Playful pink leopard-print panels, three metallic gold sleeve stripes and vibrant retro sportswear logo patches bring a bold contemporary twist to the traditional silhouette.
The contrasting colours and textures create a striking balance between delicate Japanese artistry and fearless modern design.
Inside, the soft ivory lining features charming pink floral motifs arranged within a delicate geometric pattern, adding a beautiful touch of femininity and traditional Japanese elegance.
A decorative braided haori cord in complementary pink and muted green tones completes the piece.
