The Days Around the Spring Equinox

The Days Around the Spring Equinox

Yesterday marked the Spring Equinox.

Over the past couple of days, the weather has suddenly turned bright and warm, almost as if it’s celebrating the arrival of the new season.

When I lived in Japan, I never paid much attention to this time of year. It was simply part of the calendar.

But after living in the UK for four years, I’ve come to appreciate it in a completely different way.

After a long, grey winter, the return of light and warmth feels significant. Even a few days of sunshine can lift your mood and change the rhythm of everyday life.

Yesterday, I also spent a really pleasant day trading at St Nicholas Market, enjoying the sunshine throughout the day.

It’s a quiet reminder that the seasons are shifting again.
