The Busiest Saturday of the Season

The Busiest Saturday of the Season

Today was the final Saturday before Christmas, and it turned into our busiest day yet at St Nicholas Market. From morning until close, the stall was full of people stopping to browse, chat, and discover new pieces.

Our upcycled obi hoodies were particularly well received, with many people drawn to their story and individuality. Original design T-shirts also found new homes, and the newly arrived wash bags made from Japanese fabric were especially popular.

It was a long, energetic day, and while it brought a great deal of positivity, it also highlighted the challenges that can come with busy market trading. One handmade piece went missing, which was disappointing, especially knowing the time and care that goes into every item. It’s something we’ll be thinking carefully about as we plan better ways to protect our work going forward.

Tomorrow we’ll be trading across two locations — St Nicholas Market and Tobacco Factory — and looking ahead to another full day to finish the season.
