Today I uploaded the new kimono pieces that arrived from Japan to the online store.
Every garment is one of one, which makes the process slow and detailed. Photographing, measuring, writing descriptions — each piece needs individual attention.
It takes time, but there is something special about unwrapping each garment and seeing it properly for the first time. The colours, the texture of the silk, the small details in the weave — that quiet moment of discovery never gets old.
Working with one-of-a-kind pieces means there is no repetition. Once a piece is gone, it’s truly gone.
Tomorrow I’ll be back at the market, bringing these pieces with me.
