Yesterday, I sourced new fabric from Japan for shirts and dresses for next month’s festival.
The pattern is called Shippo, a traditional design made of overlapping circles.
It represents connection — circles that continue endlessly, symbolising relationships, harmony, and prosperity.
I’ve always been drawn to textiles that carry meaning like this. It adds another layer to the piece, beyond just how it looks.
The fabric will now be sent to Jaipur for production, and from there it will return to the UK as finished garments.
I’m really looking forward to seeing how it comes together.
